My goodness!

Suddenly,I can't believe and recounted my fingers several time to double make sure. It's been almost 9 months sincer I arrived this cold country. Time flys by, seasons change, I'v adjusted mind and physically so much by the cultural shock.
So many things that grow up with make me think of and miss.Miss once a week guzheng (chinese zither)class after teaching, driving around the city with my second hand scooter, hang up with friends and family at night market till very late night, hot pot with lots of veggie and ingredient, streetside stalls, warm weather. You won't realize how much you have and how precious things are that being taken in granted.
For the sake of protecting people each county, each has its own strict rules to prevent from some cases. But, there are too many restrictions here made me so made and unhappy. I feel lost about my self-value in this weastern country. It's a bigh challenge to live here and not being accepted in certain ways in this socity.
So many times asked myself,if I knew there would be so much diffictlties and trouble in the reality in this country, I'm 100% sure that won't coming here till I get offical status.
So many people complain how terriable Taiwan is, neither did I. But, point of view in my world has changed. Taiwan is a small island but beautiful and well developed in it's own way. So glad that couple days before, just saw a ad of Taiwan on TV that declaiming to the world there is a wonder country that's small but brooming gradually. Go!Go!Taiwan.
GuZheng-Chinese zither

I would love to hear you play zither.
And yes, Taiwan is a beautiful country.
Hello there. I was wondering which "Western" country you were living in... Canada? Well, let me remind you of all the POSITIVE differences you have possibly experienced since you've arrived from Taiwan...
1) Traffic that makes sense.
2) Food that is guarded by Government regulations (street stalls can seriously give you diseases!) I know!
3) People in Canada are, on the whole far more patient and listen to people who may not speak their language
4) the music is better and better appreciated. (I'm Canadian and I LOVE the GuZheng). It's not ALL pop and 80s disco-revival garbage.
5) you can breathe! Clean air should NOT be taken for granted
6) Really, I could go on and on... if you don't like where you are, perhaps it is because you miss 'who' you were back in Taiwan... one of the crowd. The aimless crowd. In Canada, you are givin the opportunity to stand out, and be widely appreciated for doing so. So do so! If you don't, you will have missed the most fundamental difference that, to me, makes Canada 1000% nicer to explore.
Good Luck.
oh, and p.s. the GuZheng is it's own instrument. The Zither is not the same. This comparison is what makes most people depreciate the value of it's uniqueness. Call it by its name!
Thanks, Lloyd, I guess you'd been to Taiwan before. Well, each country has it good and unhappy part to be adjusted by a new comer. I appreciate that I have the chance to be in Canada and be able to live here. Thanks for your support for Chinese instrument.
